Black Clover

Asta is a young orphan child who aspires to be the Wizard King. There's only one problem: he can't implement magic because he was born without it. Despite so, he manages to summon a grimoire with a rare five-leaf clover that grants him the power to use elven swords and anti-magic, allowing him to face his closest friend and fellow orphan Yuno in a struggle to become the next Wizard King.

Although Black Clover doesn’t have anything resembling a high school in the Clover Kingdom, Asta is another poster child for the trope of being the only person born without special powers or other abilities until they gain them in some way once they get older.

Hunter x Hunter

Gon, a twelve years old boy, wishes to follow in his absent father's footsteps and become a Hunter, an elite class with the ability to go anywhere in the globe. To make that goal a reality, he takes the Hunter Examination and befriends three other candidates — Kurapika, Leorio, and Killua — who will assist him in finding his father, who abandoned him as a child.

No one has superpowers in Hunter x Hunter, but they do have a wide range of personalities and some weird superpower-like skills later on that are crucial to their success.

Little Witch Academia

Akko enrols in Luna Nova Academy, a prominent witch school for girls, to learn how to be a witch like her idol, Shiny Chariot. The difficulty is that because she lacks magical abilities, she fails to keep up with her classmates in mastering witch skills, particularly flying a broomstick. She does, however, gain some magical usage thanks to the Shiny Rod left behind by Shiny Chariot.

Despite the use of the word "academia" in the title and a virtually identical graphic style to My Hero Academia, Little Witch Academia was created by Studio Trigger rather than Bones. Despite this, Akko and Deku would be best friends because the latter didn't have a Quirk before meeting his idol All Might and enrolling in UA High School.

One-Punch Man

Saitama is a superhero who, as the name implies, can defeat any opponent with a single punch. Despite training to perfect his power and becoming one of the world's greatest heroes, his strength increased to the point where enemy conflicts bore him to death, so he sets out to find an opponent worthy of more than a single punch, so he sets out to find an opponent worthy of more than a single punch.

Blue Exorcist

Rin Okumura, who was raised by a Catholic priest with his twin brother Yukio, discovers that he is the son of Satan, the ruler of the demon realm Gehenna, who sends Rin to the human realm of Assiah as a child in the hopes of possessing his body when he reaches the age of majority. Rin enrols in True Cross Academy to become an exorcist after witnessing his adopted father die while attempting to save him from Satan with the sweep of his sword.

Unlike Deku, Rin was born with powers, but they were hidden away in the Kurikara until reawakened by a demon encounter. But, like Deku, he enrols in a prominent school with high academic standards.

Assassination Classroom

Assassination Classroom delivers a punch similar to MHA, but with a huge twist. When an octopus-like creature destroys 70% of the moon, the misfit pupils of Kunugigaoka Junior High School, who call the being Koro-sensei, are entrusted with destroying him by the end of the school year, or else he will destroy the world.
